The DM Series fits a 32″ x 18-5/16″ sleeve. That’s the same opening used by a long list of discontinued equipment from McQuay, Carrier, Islandaire, KeepRite, Heil Quaker, Whirlpool, Zoneaire, and others. If you’re sourcing replacements for any of those lines, the DM Series drops in without sleeve modification in most cases.

Two configurations are available. The DMQE is an air conditioner with electric resistance heat. The DHE is a heat pump with electric resistance backup. Both run on R454B refrigerant.

DM Series Features

Digital Controls with Electronic Temperature Limiting

Current DM Series units ship with digital controls across the line. That’s a change from earlier models. Electronic temperature limiting lets you set heating and cooling range restrictions on a per-unit basis. Useful for hotels and multifamily buildings where you want to bound what guests or tenants can adjust.

Standard mechanical control units are also available if your project calls for them. 

Front Desk Control Ready

The DMQE and DHE both support front desk control through 24VAC protocol. That means your property management system can communicate with individual units for setback, occupancy override, and temperature limiting. It’s standard on digital control models and doesn’t require additional field conversion. 

Low Noise Operation

The DM Series uses acoustic noise-canceling materials and an optimized fan design. The result is lower operating sound levels compared to earlier DM models. That matters in guest rooms and patient rooms where compressor noise at 2 a.m. generates complaints. 

Premium Metal Front Cover

Units ship with a durable metal front cover and grille. The sloped front panel geometry carries over from earlier DM Series models, so it looks right in existing installations. An aluminum architectural grille (ACC32AAGRILLE) is available for properties that need a higher-end finish. 

Washable Filter

The standard filter is a washable, reusable media filter. Part number 74004001, measuring 9.125″ x 30.75″. It’s a standard PM item and cuts down on filter supply cost in high-turnover facilities.

What Does the DM Series Replace?

The DM Series fits a 32″ x 18-5/16″ sleeve opening. These are the discontinued lines it replaces. No sleeve modification required in most retrofit jobs.

If your existing unit has a different sleeve size, contact us. We carry Applied Comfort replacements for other legacy sleeve dimensions as well.
