FAQ
What brands of PTAC units does Air Distributors carry?
Air Distributors stocks PTAC units from GE Zoneline, Applied Comfort, Amana, and Hotpoint. GE Zoneline and Amana are standard 42 x 16 footprint units for current applications. Applied Comfort units are legacy replacement PTACs designed for non-standard sleeve dimensions — the correct choice when an existing sleeve does not accept a standard-size chassis. Hotpoint PTACs are compatible with existing GE Zoneline sleeves.
Do you sell to contractors and property managers directly, or only to end users?
Air Distributors sells to trade and commercial buyers — HVAC contractors, property managers, facilities departments, school districts, and commercial building operators. We are a wholesale distributor and do not provide installation services.
What is the difference between a standard PTAC and a legacy PTAC replacement?
Standard PTACs conform to the common 42-inch by 16-inch chassis size shared by most current-production equipment. Legacy PTAC replacements — such as the Applied Comfort product line — are dimensioned to fit older, non-standard wall openings left by discontinued equipment from brands like McQuay, AAF, Islandaire, Singer, and others. Using a standard-size unit in a non-standard sleeve requires structural modification that legacy replacement units are specifically engineered to avoid.
Can you help identify the correct replacement PTAC or part if I have a model number?
Yes. Provide the existing unit’s model number and serial number — found on the nameplate on the unit — and our team can identify the correct replacement unit or part. This is particularly useful for legacy equipment where the original manufacturer’s documentation may be scarce. Call 800-866-1210 or submit the contact form.
Do you offer wholesale or volume pricing for bulk orders?
Yes. We supply contractors and facilities professionals at wholesale pricing and can accommodate bulk orders for organizations replacing multiple units across a property or portfolio. Contact us to discuss volume pricing and ongoing supply arrangements.
What areas do you ship to?
We ship nationwide across the US. For in-stock items, typical delivery is 2–5 business days. Contact us to confirm availability and lead time for specific products before placing an order.
